DeRomo’s Partners with Café of Life for Thanksgiving Fundraiser

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Oct.30, 2020) — DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant will start collecting funds to purchase turkeys on behalf of Café of Life. The Thanksgiving drive will run from Sunday, November 1st through Sunday, November 22nd.

This initiative reflects Café of Life’s mission to meet the basic needs of the less fortunate via nutritional and supplemental assistance, while preserving each client’s dignity.

Most recently, the local nonprofit announced that COVID-19 did not keep staff and volunteers from a single day of service. These efforts include an outreach program that provides essential items, fresh produce and dairy, hot meals, and baby supplies to low-income neighborhoods and seniors on a weekly and biweekly basis. Now, DeRomo’s holiday initiatives will complement these charitable endeavors.

Director of Operations Stephen Schmitt asks all participants to mail their monetary donations to DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant (26811 S Bay Drive, Suite 140 & 148, Bonita Springs, FL 34134). Anyone sending a check should make it out to DeRomo’s and indicate ‘Café of Life – Thanksgiving’ in the memo. Patrons also have the option of presenting their donations to a cashier upon checking out during DeRomo’s current hours of business — Gourmet Market is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; Restaurant is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

“Food is the way to the heart and behind everything we do, so our venue has found an extra special way to give to those who value food the most,” Schmitt said. “As always, no amount is too little or too much, especially when it comes to a worthwhile cause at a never-before-experienced time as this.”
